2009 Gathering of Authors Tentative Schedule
We reserve the right to keep discussion and break times flexible.
Prepared by: John F. Harnish, Special Projects Director, Infinity Publishing

Friday
2009 Schedule of Events
12:00 pm   Meet-and-greet in the bookstore and refreshment rooms.

1:00 pm   Introductions – Tell Us About You and Your Book in 3 Minutes or Less!!! Moderated by John F. Harnish, Conference Director.
2:15 pm   Thinking Outside the Book – Stretch and release your creative mind for the weekend by engaging and sharing in lively exchanges of promotional ideas that may come from left field, but hit right on target. At the crest of the circle will be Jeniffer Thompson, Brian Jud, Penny C. Sansevieri, John F. Harnish, with wave moderator Melanie Rigney.
3:30pm   Spinning Spin-offs for Fun and Profits – Milk your book content for more revenue flows by expanding your promotional window to market your content far beyond the book. The experienced spokes of the wheel will be Judith Trustone, Dan Poynter, Brian Jud, Penny C. Sansevieri, and at the hub LinDee Rochelle.
5:30pm   Networking and Cash Bar – Relax and be refreshed while mingling and chatting informally with fellow authors, presenters, associates, and invited guests. Attire is neatly casual.
7:00 pm

Dinner
Keynote Address – The Future of Book Publishing and the Changing Role of the Author,
by Dan Poynter.

Saturday
2009 Schedule of Events
8:00 am   Continental Breakfast in the refreshment room.
9:00 am   Crafted Content Copywriting and Persuading Pitches – Making the most of your well selected words to sell more books and learn why an author's photo is worth a thousand words – and lots of book sales. Conjure creative concepts with Penny C. Sansevieri, Melanie Rigney, Chad Thompson, Dan Poynter, channeled on target by moderator John F. Harnish.
10:45 am   Social Networking: the Good, the Bad and the Ugly of the Digitally Connected Age – Learn the answer to the question to text or not to text!!! This wired space is where less says more and nothing said speaks in volume. Net-together for some face-time with Penny C. Sansevieri, Melanie Rigney, Judith Trustone, Brian Jud, Jeniffer Thompson, and facing the time-line, moderator LinDee Rochelle.

12:30 pm   Lunch – Keynoter with a timely topic to be announced.
2:00 pm   Keeping You and Your Book Safe in a Suit-crazed Legal Arena – Legal issues that matter to authors before and after they publish are undergoing changes in today’s courts. Bring your questions about copyright, fair use, selling rights, the publisher's position, and whatever literary laws boggle your mind. The courtly circle is legalized by Tonya Evans, Esq. and Tom Gregory, President of Infinity Publishing, and called to order by non-judgmental moderator Brian Jud.
3:30 pm

I Wish I'd Done It Differently – But I Learned from That!!! Shamelessly share the meat of the matter that was cooked right, but came out tasteless. You know, those totally mindless things that were thought to be a good idea at the time but really weren't. Tell about your trying promotional efforts that were better left untried; give a bit of insight into those horrific goofs that went spin, crash, and burned in flames – but more importantly, briefly explain what you learned from the done-wrong experience and how you made a benefit from the bummer that befell your crushed concept.

On a personal note: This topic was inspired by a luncheon keynote a few Infinity conferences ago, delivered most masterfully by my good friend, associate, and fellow Infinity author, Dan Poynter. Thusly, 'tis most befitting for us to double-team you as co-moderators of this circle that I hope all of our presenters will also participate in. Indeed, we've all done something really stupid – gee, I've done some dumb things more than once!!! The positive benefit expands where the learning is shared -- remember, regrets recycled reap relished rewards.

5:30 pm   Networking and Cash Bar – another opportunity to meet and talk with folks you haven't met yet.
7:00 pm   Dinner
Keynote Presentation
– to be announced, but I dare say I'm putting the pieces of something rather different together that will be highly informative, entertaining, and helpful to all. Trust me!!!
